By choosing to accept treatment for your addiction you are making a courageous leap of faith that we admire immensely.  In order to make your stay and transition into recovery easy as possible we’ve gathered a list of information that you may find helpful when planning your stay.

What To Expect

Upon admission into Recovery by the Sea we will issue you a handbook that will serve as your guide for the duration of treatment.  We believe in a safe and cordial environment that respects both our clients and staff members ensuring your protection at all times.  We operate according to federal safety standards and understand the importance of client confidentiality.

What to Take to Treatment:

We recommend bringing comfortable attire that is in good taste and not offensive.  Limit the amount of clothing you take with you to fit in one suitcase and one carry-on bag.  You will have access to laundry services at all times.  The following checklist is an approved list of items you may take to treatment.  Keep in mind this list is flexible and subject to the ultimate approval of our clinical staff.

  • Insurance card
  • Identification (driver’s license or other state issued ID)
  • List of prescribed medications and any known allergies
  • Bathing suits
  • Athletic shoes and clothing
  • Cellphone allowed but will be stored in safekeeping by staff
  • Sunglasses and headwear
  • Sunscreen
  • Reading material (to be approved at staff discretion)
  • Ipod or mp3 player
  • Toiletries
  • Notebook and writing materials for group activities

What not to Bring:

  • Distasteful or offensive clothing
  • Chewing tobacco
  • Expensive jewelry
  • Detergent or bleach
  • Aerosol products
  • Alcohol and alcohol based products (i.e. mouthwash, perfumes, facial toner, aftershave)
  • Drugs or any other illegal items

This list is by no means definitive and staff personnel will have the final say in determining what is an appropriate item in recovery.  Any medication that you take, along with dosages must be disclosed to our staff and intake specialist prior to admission.  If there is any uncertainty on the part of the client with regard to what is an acceptable item please contact the admissions office directly.
